We believe that a pen is mightier than a sword. Education is the greatest and most needful weapon that can alleviate the curse of poverty and the best medium to reach our destination and it is one of the fundamental human rights and needs. Regarding this, Sant Gajanan Maharaj Shikshan Prasarak Mandal is concerned about the education of the children who are lacking this right. We try to make underprivileged children and their parents aware of the importance of education and the educational advantages that are available in our organization. We also work to offer them a free study kit, uniform, and hostel facilities to make them inspired to be involved and continue their studies.
Hostel Facilities
Sant Gajanan Maharaj Shikshan Prasarak Mandal is working to promote educational development in the society of underprivileged and marginalized children in order to make them included in the process of formal education. We have built up a hostel which is named Indira Gandhi Girl’s and Boy’s Hostel in Palebarsa Tq Saoli, Chandrapur, and are successfully running it. Here children are getting all kinds of educational facilities without spending a single penny. Students who have no access to education for their economically weaker backgrounds can avail here free accommodation and food facilities. Our members always try to motivate them and spread awareness among them so that they remain inspired to continue their studies to achieve their goals in the future.
Healthcare Facilities
We believe that Health is the wealth of human life. Good health is a precious gift for us. People of the backward section are lacking basic healthcare needs as they do not have enough ability to get treated with good medication. So we organize several camps to promote the importance of maintaining healthy habits and we provide them with General Health Care facilities free of cost and provide free medicines as per their need. We also arrange Blood donation Camps for dealing with those times of emergency often people find it difficult to get a blood bag since they do not know where and how they can avail the same and to make people aware of the importance of life, which we live out. Through these camps, We also guide them on how to self-check the different body parts or organs to diagnose diseases and get treated earlier.
Old age home
Sant Gajanan Maharaj Shikshan Prasarak Mandal is working to make a huge difference in the lives of elderly persons who have been destitute and abandoned by their families or close ones. Feeling the necessity of the establishment of an old age home for disadvantaged senior citizens who have endured and suffered unbearable pain for being old, incapable, and helpless, we have built an old age home named Late Sirabai Shende Old Age Home in Sindewahi, Chandrapur. We are well aware of the fact that after becoming old their health both mental and physical get deteriorates. Our organization is working to provide these elderly people with all the advantages of health care, healthy food, and accommodation for a lifetime so that they can live a life of dignity.
Study Kit Distribution
Our organization aims to advance education and develop the students of marginalized communities. We offer our support to them by providing study-related materials like books, bags, etc to needy students who lack them and are unable to continue their studies as they do have not enough financial support to do. We also try to provide free school uniforms and avail of free bus service to the students. Basically, parents of weaker economical backgrounds who are financially weak and unable to buy their children stationery materials but have a strong desire to see their children be educated are requested to take these facilities and get benefits from them. We also try to aware them of the fact that education is a basic right and encourage them to overcome their limitations and obstacles in the way of getting educated.
Awareness program against Addiction
Building up a society free from addiction remains one of our primary motives. Sant Gajanan Maharaj Shikshan Prasarak Mandal is promoting good health as well as protecting the young generation from addiction to deadly alcohol and tobacco products. Regarding this, Sant Gajanan Maharaj integrated a rehabilitation center in Sindewahi, Chandrapur to nurse addicts back into healthy productive lifestyles. We also conceptualize and run to build up awareness against addiction and its ill effects on oneself and his family. We want to empower the coming generation to create a healthy society towards making our country healthy and protected from the harmful effects caused by addiction.
Women Empowerment
Empowering a woman is equivalent to empowering an entire generation. Our main motive is to empower women of marginalized backgrounds with all the rights, needs, and facilities in society. Women’s empowerment is crucial to overcome critical social issues such as poverty and unemployment, which leads to empowering the nation. In India, women are still facing social inequalities and gender discrimination. Sant Gajanan Maharaj Shikshan Prasarak Mandal is working for them to get them educational rights and opportunities to be employed to become self-sufficient and independent. We also conduct free training programs on stitching, and computer education to make them able to be self-employed and financially independent. We feel satisfied to see them taking part in these programs and be motivated to do something better with their life and future.
Career Guidance
Sant Gajanan Maharaj Shikshan Prasarak Mandal is dedicated to promoting the importance of achieving goals in life by becoming able to build up a prestigious career in order to earn their own living. We are trying to help students of higher secondary levels to get proper guidance for a suitable career for them. We conduct several sessions for career counseling for those who do have not the right choice yet for their life or are confused about their career. We have benefited a sound number of aspirants with proper guidance and consultations for their careers. We feel so pleased to make this happen and be part of their journey toward achieving something greater in life.
